Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin

A slow sloe gin, the base is our Downpour Scottish Dry Gin which we age in bourbon whiskey casks for up to a year. While this is going on, we soak delicious sloe berries and Uist brambles in alcohol for up to 6 months, giving the liquid it’s deep burgundy colour. Blending these two components together provides an unmistakeable finish delivering complex and rich fruitcake flavours. The ageing of the gin in bourbon casks adds vanilla notes while the soaking of the fruit in alcohol allows the sloe’s stone to ‘macerate’, giving the end-product a hint of marzipan.
